This notice explains what happens to personal data when you visit sleepyleopard.com. It is written to UK and EU data protection standards, which are the strictest that apply to us, and it covers visitors wherever they are.
Who is responsible
Sleepy Leopard LLC, registered in Wyoming, United States, is the data controller for this website. You can reach us at hello@sleepyleopard.com.
What this site collects
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. That is deliberate. It is why you have not been asked to accept anything.
Three things still involve your data:
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard web server logs — IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the date and time. These keep the site running and secure.
- Typefaces. The site currently loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your IP address reaches Google when a page loads. We are moving these onto our own server; until that is done, Google is the only third party that learns anything about your visit.
- Email. If you write to us, we hold your message and your address for as long as it takes to deal with it properly.
Why we are allowed to
Running and securing the site, and replying when you contact us, rest on our legitimate interests in operating the business. Where you have emailed us, handling your enquiry is also what you asked us to do.
Who else sees it
Our hosting provider, as part of running the site, and Google, in the limited way described above. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Where it goes
We operate out of the United States and the United Kingdom, and data relating to this site may be processed in either. Where information moves out of the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards our providers have in place.
How long we keep it
Server logs are held for our hosting provider’s standard retention period. Correspondence is kept while it is still relevant and then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we are using it, or ask us to restrict it. Email us and we will deal with it.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK, or to the supervisory authority where you live in the EU. We would rather you came to us first.
Changes
If this notice changes we will update this page and change the date at the top.
